Concept
A timber-framed cabin held in the cloud forest canopy by the lightest possible structure.
Stained Timber, Teak Decking, Low-Iron Glass, Linen Curtains carry the cabin lightly into the cloud forest. Slim columns minimise structural mass; teak decks, soft curtains, and full-height glass present the smallest possible footprint to the ecosystem.
Live among the canopy. Touch the ground as little as possible.
Hidden within the cloud forest of central Costa Rica, Canopy Retreat was completed in 2023 as a private weekend cabin. The 120 m² timber-framed cabin is suspended in the canopy, opening fully to the green air on three sides through full-height curtained glass.
